Oxford Street Flagship Reopening
Overview
HMV came back. The store needed to prove it.
HMV’s return to the high street was more than a commercial decision. It was a cultural statement. After years of physical retail decline in music and entertainment, the brand needed a presence that could justify its comeback and give customers a reason to walk in. Static posters and legacy AV were not going to do it.
IUF delivered a national digital signage rollout across 16+ HMV locations, replacing static window displays with custom high-brightness LED totems built for street-level impact. At Oxford Street, the brief went further: a wrap-around LED entrance, a 4.5m in-store ticker, and a JBL sound system, creating a full AV experience befitting the flagship most visible to the brand’s cultural ambitions.
This was a brand relaunch delivered in hardware and content, built to reconnect HMV with customers who had grown up with it and attract those who hadn’t experienced it before.
