Celebrating 50 Years with Immersive Digital Experiences

To mark its 50th anniversary, Foot Locker transformed its Manhattan flagship store into a digitally immersive celebration space. Over a three-day weekend, VIP guests were invited to engage in two custom-built activations, each designed to honour the brand’s basketball heritage while creating fun, shareable content. IUF delivered the end-to-end solution, from hardware and gamification logic to custom content capture and branded microsites.

Interactive Photo Station with Branded Basketball Overlays

Attendees captured personalised content through a DSLR-powered photo booth that featured virtual background removal and basketball-themed overlays. The system created branded, shareable images that were fun, fast, and engaging, delivered instantly via a dedicated microsite. The activation blended Foot Locker’s visual identity with a celebration of basketball culture, offering every guest a takeaway moment of the experience.

Digital Design Studio with Physical & Digital Rewards

At the “Creation Station,” guests used 55” and 22” touchscreens to customise either a digital sneaker or basketball. After choosing colours, patterns, and graphics, their final designs were printed as physical sticker sets and also saved as digital assets. This multi-layered interaction encouraged creativity, longer dwell time, and meaningful brand connection, while the content lived on through social shares and physical keepsakes.
